Alison Moyet – Hometime
Hometime was an opportunity to produce some great songs written by Alison and Pete Glenister, plus a couple written by Carlton McCarthy – a seminal figure in the Bristol music scene of the nineties. The album received rave reviews and Alison was nominated in the Best Female Singer category at the Brit Awards following the release of the album.
As well as producing the album, we contributed most of the playing – guitars, bass, keyboards, percussion etc – but we also used some great guest musicians on different tracks, including Adrian Utley (Portishead) on guitar, Clive Deamer (Portishead/Radiohead) on drums, John Baggott (Portishead/Massive Attack/Robert Plant) on an array of keyboards. String arrangements from Simon Hale.

“It’s been some time coming but “Hometime” turns out to be the best album of Alison Moyet’s career. With The Insects in the producers’ chair (see also Goldfrapp and Massive Attack), the sound is elegant and chilled.”
